Break Cue Question???

I just got a new Lucasi Cue and want to turn my old Palmer Custom Cue into my break cue. The cue already seems be set up for breaking but what are some other things I can do to turn this cue into a good breaking cue? Tip? Ferrule? It's a tad bit shorter than a standard cue and has a shorter taper than my Lucasi. The joint is composite and I think it's 5/16" x 14 black collar. Thanks alot.

The best thing you can do for an awesome hit is to put a phenolic tip on the shaft. It will replace the ferrule as it is one whole piece. I have one on my break cue, and I love it. The only thing though is if you cue is already short, they will have to take the shaft down more to put the new tip on, because it replaces the ferrule. If you have a solid break with it now, there is nothing said that you need to change anything. Maybe find someone who has a similar break cue set up and try it out to see how you like it.
