Convince brother to give me his car?
A few years ago, my dad bought my step-brother a honda element. He doesn't have a job, quit college, and hasn't paid more than 50 dollars to him for the car. I am 15 and really like the element because of how useful it is for any situation. I am getting good grades in honors classes, playing water polo, and doing commercials, so that I am making my money, but my dad says that he only wants to pitch in about 4,000 for my car. I don't understand why he buys his step-son, who isn't trying to do anything to improve himself an $18,000 car but won't buy his own son who is trying in school and practicing in the pool for 5 hours a day a car that's more than $4,000. Anyways, he said that he will consider letting me have the element if I talk to my step-brother about it. My question is what can I say to my brother to convince him to let me have the car without creating animosity between us
Maybe I'm misunderstanding something here. You are mad the stepbrother has only paid $50 for it, yet you expect it for free? You are saying "give", right? Am I missing something?
