what wetsuit is the better for indoor pool training?
the main criteria...... longevity when swiming at chlorine water....
I doubt that any one suit will be better than another for this. Chlorine attacks any and all neoprene. You'll be better off to just rinse it thoroughly, and maybe apply some Armor-All once in awhile.
Or consider a dive skin. They may last longer.
Air Force Pararescue?
Okay. I am Enlisted in the US Air Force Delayed Entry Program and I have until August to train for my PAST to see if I qualify for Para rescue or any other Special Operations Force in the Air Force. I need help getting into a, "decent," shape. I weigh 140lbs., I run and do strength exercises quite frequently, 2-5 times a week. I have looked at the Stew Smith site and I can't afford to buy anything major to help train. I do not have access to a pool and I can't ride a bicycle because I live in the boonies and it's nothing but hills. I have the Iron Gym Pull Up bar and the Perfect Push Up but that's it. Help? Preferably someone who has experience with a former or current Operative.
Kinda being more specific here...I do alot of exercises, I enjoy physical activity and am doing as much as I can without resources such as a pool and weights...I have graduated High School and am in AF DEP. PAST in August. Thank you all for all the help so far.
You probably won't like my advice but here it is ...
Stop whining and making excuses for not getting into shape and start DOING. Pararescue and every other Special Operations career is about being SELF motivated.
You can't ride a bike because of hills? Bull. Run up the hills then.
No access to a pool? You better find one because you won't pass the PAST if you don't practice your swimming and you certainly won't like indoc if you don't have some comfort level in the water.
Also, as for the PAST .. if you can't MAX the PAST test and take it again directly after with above minimum passing scores, you are NOT fit enough. This isn't the only gage you need for fitness, but it's a good one that will show you how prepared you are.
Go over to www.specialtactics.com Read the site .. read everything from the info about the jobs to the info about fitness. Then go to the forums and read all of the posts there. I promise you'll have much more insight and a far better idea. It may even motivate you a bit more. You don't have a lot of time to prepare (Aug 10 isn't that far away) so stick with it.
